School may be out for the summer however, there are no breaks when it comes to life’s lessons and growth. The 7th and 8th grade students at COPE SCHOOL made miraclous strides this year. OUR GIRLS ENRICHMENT PROGRAM volunteered 7 months, with a focus on education, creating a vision and pushing past obstacles that some of these young mothers have faced. Uplifting strategies and holistic sessions were held with the support of powerful volunteer facilitators.
They represented a variety of different professions. The students set goals to become doctors, nurses, business owners and more. OUR GIRLS wrote feedback notes as we closed out for the summer. From the mouth of babes, I wanted to share a couple of their messages as a reminder to us all: “I learned in the program that you can do whatever your goal is” & “What I learned out of this program is to not give up on me…”
2014 has been an amazing year, but it is not over yet. Life’s lessons continue & there are goals we all need to accomplish!
